[Conference presentation] UGI-IGU Centennial Congress Paris 2022

International Geographical Union (IGU) Centennial Congress was held in Paris and online through a hybrid format between 18 and 22 July.
On 19 July 2022, CTR researcher, Prof. Joseph M. Cheer presented the Distinguished Lecture for the IGU Tourism Commission. This lecture celebrated the IGU Tourism Commission's receipt of the IGU Commission Excellence Award. As a board member of the IGU Tourism Commission, Prof. Cheer was proud to celebrate this achievement on stage with Chair, Prof, Julie Wilson, Universita Oberta de Catalunya.
This lecture also celebrated the award of the IGU Lauréat d'Honneur to Prof. Alan A. Lew, Emeritus Professor, Northern Arizona University, USA. Prof. Cheer commended Prof. Lew, who as founder of the journal Tourism Geographies established the sub-discipline. Prof. Cheer is now the Co Editor-in-Chief of the Q1 journal Tourism Geographies with Prof. Mary Mostafanezhad, University of Hawai'i at Mānoa
